1. Scope and Acceptance
Bokko is an online booking management platform through which guests can request appointments, and service providers can accept, modify, or decline these requests.
By using the service, the user accepts these terms. If a separate contract is concluded between Bokko and a service provider, the specific contract may take precedence in the given matter.
Open Beta Operation. Bokko is currently in its Open Beta phase, operated by a private individual;
company formation is planned, the date is not yet fixed. Operator's basic data according to Act CVIII of 2001 (Ektv.):
Operator: Dávid Mácsik (private individual)
Address: 7100 Szekszárd, Fürdőház utca 1, Hungary
Electronic contact: [email protected]
Information regarding the hosting provider is available on the
Imprint & Contact page.
2. Service Description
Based on its current operation, the Bokko platform provides, among others, the following functions:
- public booking page for service and appointment requests,
- service provider dashboard for managing requests,
- automatic email notifications upon status changes,
- reschedule proposal and guest response flow,
- email and optional SMS reminders before confirmed appointments.
Bokko is a platform provider. The actual service is not provided by Bokko, but by the selected service provider.
3. Rules for Guest Users
- Guests are required to provide true and accurate data during the booking request.
- A booking request alone does not constitute an automatic confirmation; the appointment only becomes confirmed following the service provider's decision.
- Guests acknowledge that the platform may limit repeated or excessive requests for abuse prevention purposes.
- If the provider proposes a new time, the guest can accept, decline, or indicate a preference for a different time via the provided link.
4. Rules for Service Providers
- Use of the dashboard is subject to login.
- The provider is responsible for the accuracy of the services, prices, durations, business hours, and contact details provided.
- The provider is responsible for service commitments made to guests, the quality of performance, and compliance with applicable consumer protection and data protection obligations.
- Preserving the confidentiality of account credentials is the responsibility of the provider. Bokko is entitled to consider all operations performed through the account as legitimate use, unless the provider credibly reports unauthorized access.
5. Notifications and Communication
As part of the service, Bokko may send transactional email notifications regarding, for example, new booking requests, confirmations, reschedules, declines, or cancellations. In addition, email and — if enabled by the provider — SMS reminders may be sent before confirmed appointments.
These messages are related to the operation of the service and do not constitute independent marketing communication. The user is responsible for ensuring that their contact details are correct and usable.
6. Prohibited Use
The following are prohibited in particular:
- providing false data or data belonging to another person,
- burdening the system with automated queries, scraping, or abusive requests,
- circumventing security, access, or rate limit mechanisms,
- recording illegal, offensive, or misleading content in notes or service descriptions,
- resale or white-label redistribution without Bokko's prior permission.
7. Availability and Modifications
Bokko strives for continuous availability of the service but does not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, development, external provider errors, or force majeure situations may cause temporary outages.
Bokko is entitled to modify the service's functions, technical environment, or branding, provided that this does not violate mandatory legal regulations and existing contractual obligations.
8. Liability
Bokko is not a personal service provider, but a technical platform provider. Bokko is not liable for the content, quality, absence, or defective performance of the actual service relationship between the guest and the provider.
Bokko's liability may be limited to foreseeable, direct damages within mandatory legal frameworks. Liability limitation cannot be applied in cases of intentional damage, gross negligence, or where prohibited by law.
9. Intellectual Property
All components of the Bokko application — including the name, logo, interface, design, texts, source code, and other content — constitute the exclusive intellectual property of operator Dávid Mácsik and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
The user is exclusively entitled to the intended use of the service. Copying, reverse engineering, modifying, or unauthorized redistribution of the service's source code or operation is not permitted, except where expressly allowed by mandatory law.
10. Suspension and Termination
Bokko is entitled to temporarily restrict or terminate access if the user seriously or repeatedly violates these terms, engages in illegal activities, or endangers the security of the platform.
Detailed rules for provider account termination, data export, and potential subsequent retention periods shall be finalized in a separate contract or internal termination process.
11. Complaint Handling
Complaints regarding the operation of the Bokko platform can be reported at [email protected]. Complaints related to the performance, quality, or absence of the actual personal service are primarily handled by the involved service provider.
12. Miscellaneous Provisions
These terms are governed by Hungarian law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection regulations. The parties shall primarily seek to settle their disputes amicably. In case of consumer disputes, jurisdiction rules according to applicable law apply. For disputes arising from non-consumer relationships between Bokko and the provider, a separate agreement may establish different jurisdiction rules.
Bokko may modify these terms from time to time. The publication date of the updated version is always indicated on this page.
12a. Data Protection and Cookies
Personal data processing may occur during the use of the Bokko platform. Details are contained in the Privacy Policy. The platform uses cookies and localStorage solutions; full information about these is provided in the Cookie Policy. By accepting these terms of service, the user acknowledges the content of these documents.
13. Public API Use
If Bokko provides Public API access (api.bokko.app/v1) in the specific plan or based on a
separate agreement, it may be used by the Subscriber's own systems and integration providers commissioned
by the Subscriber, exclusively within the scope of the Subscriber's API key and at the Subscriber's responsibility.
(a) API Key Security. The Subscriber is responsible for the confidential handling of the API key. If the API key is compromised, the Subscriber must immediately rotate it via the dashboard. The Subscriber is responsible for operations performed with the API key.
(b) Abuse and Overloading. Bokko is entitled to restrict, suspend, or terminate API access if it detects abuse, unauthorized data retrieval, or repeated violation of usage limits.
(c) Service Level. Bokko provides API availability on a best-effort basis.
(d) Data Processing. Processing of data retrieved or modified via the API is subject to the DPA Art. 28 relationship; the Subscriber is responsible for ensuring their downstream systems process data lawfully.
14. Webhooks & Downstream Systems
If the webhook function is available and the Subscriber configures their own endpoint, Bokko may optionally send webhook events to that endpoint.
(a) Destination System Selection. The Subscriber chooses and is responsible for the webhook destination system and its technical configuration.
(b) Downstream Processing. The Subscriber is responsible for ensuring the downstream system processes data lawfully.
(c) Best-effort Delivery. Bokko provides best-effort delivery. A limited retry mechanism applies in case of faulty destinations or network outages; after several failed attempts, the event is considered permanently failed.
(d) Webhook Secret. The Subscriber possesses a webhook secret for webhook authentication. The Subscriber is responsible for rotating and confidentially handling the secret.
