Guest Terms of Use

These terms apply when you, as a guest, request an appointment with a business through the Bokko booking pages. Effective as of: November 1, 2026 (v1-r1-en). Previous versions are available at the bottom of the Legal Documents page.

Explanation of terms

Short, plain-language explanations of the technical terms used in this document. The explanations are for readability only and do not change the provisions of the document.

Booking page
A provider's public web page on Bokko (booking.bokko.app), where guests can request appointments.
Cookie, browser storage
Small data files and storage areas in the user's browser in which a website keeps settings or data needed to work; localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDB are such browser storage mechanisms.
Payment provider (for example Stripe, Barion)
A licensed external company that processes card payments; card data is handled by the payment provider and is not stored by Bokko.
Deposit, card guarantee, no-show fee
Payment options a provider may request: a deposit is a partial amount paid when booking; with a card guarantee the guest's card is only saved, and with the guest's prior consent the provider may charge a fee without the guest being present (off-session) if the guest does not show up (no-show).
GDPR, controller, processor, sub-processor
The GDPR is the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation. The controller decides why and how personal data is processed; the processor processes data on the controller's behalf and instructions; a sub-processor is a further company the processor engages for this.
Pseudonymisation, anonymisation
Pseudonymisation transforms data (for example with a keyed fingerprint) so that it cannot be linked to a person without additional information; anonymisation permanently removes the link to the person, so the data is no longer personal data.
Personal data breach
A security event leading to the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure of, or access to, personal data.
Image moderation, quarantine
Automatic checking of uploaded images (Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch) for likely explicit or violent content; a flagged image is moved to non-public storage (quarantine) and is not shown.
Ptk., Ektv., Fgytv., NAIH, DSA, P2B
Ptk. is the Hungarian Civil Code; Ektv. is the Hungarian Act on electronic commerce services; Fgytv. is the Hungarian Consumer Protection Act; NAIH is the Hungarian data protection authority; the DSA is the EU Digital Services Act; P2B is the EU regulation on fairness for business users of online intermediation services.
Force majeure, best effort
Force majeure is an event beyond the parties' control (for example a natural disaster) that prevents performance; best effort means that Bokko makes reasonable efforts but does not guarantee a specific result or availability.
Click-wrap acceptance
Electronic contracting in which the user accepts the terms by ticking a checkbox or clicking a button.
Governing Language. This English translation is provided for convenience only. In the event of any discrepancy, the Hungarian version of these terms prevails.
In short: Bokko is a technical booking platform. You request an appointment from the business (for example a salon); the business provides the service, and the contract for the service is formed between you and the business. Bokko does not charge guests for requesting an appointment.

1. Scope

These terms apply to the use of Bokko's public booking pages as a guest (in particular the pages at booking.bokko.app and foglalas.bokko.app): viewing a business page, requesting an appointment, applying for a group session, joining a waitlist, and using the email links related to a booking (cancellation, response to a reschedule proposal, deposit or card guarantee).

Before sending an appointment request, you accept these terms by ticking a checkbox on the booking page. The platform use of businesses (subscribers) and their staff is governed not by this document but by the Terms of Service and the Service Agreement.

2. Who is who

  • Business: the company or sole trader with whom you request an appointment. The business sets the services, prices, opening hours, cancellation and payment rules, and provides the service. Its name and contact details are shown on its booking page.
  • Bokko: the operator of the booking platform (Bokko Technologies Kft., registered seat: Fürdőház utca 1, 7100 Szekszárd, Hungary, support@bokko.app; further details on the Imprint page). Bokko provides the booking pages, notifications and related technical infrastructure on behalf of the business. Bokko does not provide the personal service and is not a party to the service contract between you and the business.
  • Guest: you, when you request an appointment on a booking page or use a link related to your booking.

3. How requests work

  • On the booking page you request an appointment. A submitted request is not yet a confirmed booking: the business may accept it, decline it, or propose another time.
  • The appointment is confirmed when the business accepts the request; you receive an email about it. The contract for the service is formed between you and the business under the terms communicated by the business.
  • If the business proposes a new time, you can accept it, decline it, or indicate that you would like another time via the link in the email. If you decline the proposal, the booking is treated as cancelled. If you do not want to cancel the booking, choose “Request a different time”: your request then goes back to the business.
  • Before a confirmed appointment you may receive email reminders and — if you provided a phone number and the business has enabled it — SMS reminders, according to the business's settings.
  • The booking pages may limit repeated or excessive requests to prevent abuse.

Technical steps of the online appointment request: (1) choosing the service; (2) choosing the staff member, if more than one is available; (3) choosing the day and time — for a group session, choosing the session; (4) entering your contact details; (5) on the summary page, checking the details and accepting the business's policy and these terms with checkboxes; (6) sending the request. Correcting input errors: before the request is sent, the summary page shows every detail you entered, and the “Edit” button takes you back to any step; the interface flags incorrect or missing details. After sending, the request can be cancelled or changed as set out in Section 5. Acknowledgement: the interface acknowledges receipt of the request immediately after sending, with a booking reference, and we also send an acknowledgement of receipt to the email address you provided; you receive an email about the business's decision. Recording and access: Bokko records the details of the request and the version and time of the accepted terms electronically; no separate contract document is created. The booking details are available via the link you receive; these terms can be saved and printed from this page, and earlier versions remain available on the Legal documents page. Languages: the booking interface is available in several languages; these terms are available in Hungarian and English, and Bokko's emails are sent in Hungarian or English. Code of conduct: Bokko has not subscribed to any code of conduct.

4. Fees, deposits, card guarantee and on-site payment

The price of the service and the payment terms are set by the business and shown on its booking page or during the booking flow. Depending on the business's settings, it may:

  • ask for a deposit, payable via the payment link sent for the booking;
  • ask for a card guarantee: you register your bank card with the payment provider, and the business may charge it under the terms communicated at booking in case of a no-show (see below);
  • ask for payment of the service fee on site via an online payment link.

Online payments are processed through the business's own payment provider account (Stripe or Barion); your card details are handled by the payment provider, and Bokko neither sees nor stores them. The amount paid goes to the business; Bokko deducts no commission from it. Refunds of a deposit or fee are decided by the business under its own rules and the law.

No-show and late cancellation. If you do not attend a confirmed appointment, the business may — under the terms communicated at booking — charge a no-show fee as a contractual penalty (kötbér). This fee is a penalty for breach of contract, not the consideration for the service; the service is not deemed performed by charging or paying the fee. The business informs you about the amount, conditions and enforcement of the fee during the booking flow. If you gave a card guarantee, the business recording the no-show is at the same time an instruction to charge the fee: the charge starts automatically after the recording, without a separate confirmation, within the consent you gave when saving your card. If you dispute the charge, contact the business. The card guarantee cannot be charged for a late cancellation; if the business stipulates a late-cancellation fee, it enforces it outside the platform under its own terms. The business is responsible for the lawfulness, amount and specific conditions of the fee; Bokko provides the technical infrastructure for it.

Gift cards and passes cannot be purchased online on the Bokko booking pages. The use of a gift card, pass or discount code issued by the business is governed by the business's terms.

5. Cancellation and changes

  • You can cancel an appointment request or a confirmed appointment via the cancellation link in the confirmation email, or request cancellation or a change directly from the business.
  • The cancellation deadline, and whether a cancellation after the deadline has consequences, is set by the business and communicated at booking (see Section 4).
  • The business may also cancel or change the appointment; you receive an email about it. Claims arising from an appointment cancelled by the business can be asserted against the business.

6. Guest obligations

  • Provide true and accurate details; provide another person's details only with their authorisation.
  • Use the note field only for information needed for the booking; do not record information about your health or other special categories of data.
  • Do not misuse the pages: bulk or automated requests, fake bookings, circumventing security or rate-limiting mechanisms, and sending offensive, unlawful or misleading content are prohibited.
  • If you cannot attend a confirmed appointment, cancel it in time according to the business's rules.

7. Restriction of online requests

A business may configure that, after repeated no-shows it has recorded, you can no longer request appointments online with that business. The restriction applies when the number of no-shows recorded by the business's staff reaches the threshold set by the business (between 1 and 20). The decision is based solely on the number of no-shows recorded at that business; data recorded at other businesses is not counted, and the restriction does not apply at other businesses.

Independently of this, a business may also, by an individual decision, restrict you from requesting appointments online, joining group sessions or joining the waitlist with that business. Such a manual restriction does not end by itself: it lasts until the business lifts it. The business records its reason (a category and a note); you can ask the business to review it.

  • While restricted, the booking page shows a neutral message that online requests are not possible with this business right now, together with the business's contact details. You can still arrange an appointment with the business directly.
  • An automatic restriction lasts at most 12 months and then ends by itself; the business may lift it earlier at any time.
  • You can ask the business to review the restriction; if you believe the platform malfunctioned, you can also contact Bokko support (support@bokko.app).

The business decides whether to enable the feature, the threshold, and lifting the restriction; Bokko executes this rule on the business's behalf. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

8. Reporting content

If you see unlawful, misleading, fraudulent or otherwise prohibited content on a business page, you can report it with the "Report a problem" button on the business page or at support@bokko.app. How reports are handled is described in the content moderation section of the Terms of Service.

9. Personal data

The details you provide when booking are processed by the business as controller; Bokko acts as the business's processor. The business's privacy notice is available via the "Data processing" link on its booking page. Bokko's own processing (for example for platform security and abuse prevention) is described in the Privacy Policy, and data stored in your browser in the Cookie Policy.

You can withdraw marketing consent with the unsubscribe link in the newsletters of the business concerned. You can request anonymisation of your data at all businesses at once at booking.bokko.app/hu/adataim; an anonymisation request also withdraws your newsletter consent.

10. Complaints

  • Complaints about the service (for example quality, non-performance, price, deposit or no-show fee) can be made to the business, using the contact details on its booking page.
  • Complaints about the booking platform (for example a faulty notification, a broken link or a technical error) can be made to Bokko at support@bokko.app. Bokko investigates the complaint and sends a reasoned reply within 30 days of receipt at the latest. Bokko keeps the complaint and a copy of its reply for 3 years.

11. Consumer rights

If you use the booking pages as a consumer, the consumer rights granted to you by law apply regardless of these terms, and these terms do not limit them. You can assert your consumer rights relating to the service (for example information, claims for defective performance, complaints) against the business, and your rights relating to the operation of the platform against Bokko.

If your complaint cannot be resolved, you may turn to the conciliation body (békéltető testület) competent for your place of residence or stay, to the consumer protection authority, or to a court. The conciliation body competent for Bokko's registered seat is the Baranya County Conciliation Body (Baranya Vármegyei Békéltető Testület) (operated by the Pécs-Baranya Chamber of Commerce and Industry; competent for Baranya, Somogy and Tolna counties): seat and mailing address: Majorossy I. u. 36., 7625 Pécs, Hungary; telephone: +36 72 507 154; website: baranyabekeltetes.hu. You can find the body competent for your place of residence at bekeltetes.hu. In data protection matters you may also lodge a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH).

12. Platform operation and liability

Bokko strives to keep the booking pages available and error-free; maintenance, third-party outages or force majeure may cause temporary interruptions. The business is responsible for performing the service. Bokko is liable for the operation of the platform in accordance with the law; these terms do not exclude or limit that liability where the law does not permit such a limitation.

13. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by Hungarian law; this does not deprive a consumer of the protection afforded by the mandatory rules of the country of their habitual residence. Bokko may amend these terms; amended terms apply to appointment requests sent after publication, while requests already sent and confirmed appointments remain governed by the version accepted at the time of sending. Previous versions are available at the bottom of the Legal Documents page.

The Hungarian version prevails; the English version is a convenience translation.
